Excerpts
Martin Bennett & Marie-Claude Bouthillier

Saturdays only: 1 to 5pm, May 22 – June 7, 2014
Or by appointment.

Opening: Thursday May 22, 5 to 8pm

Excerpts features Martin Bennett from Saskatoon and Marie-Claude Bouthillier from Montreal. Works in this exhibition are selected from particular series by each artist: Grey Volume Paintings (1995-97) and Picture Making, (2013-ongoing) by Bennett and Megalithes by Bouthillier. Bennett’s work is rooted in a representational approach to the philosophy of abstract painting as it relates to making and to seeing. Bouthillier’s Megalithes suggest structures, folds, drapes and overlapping painted surfaces through traces of vertical and horizontal lines.
